Md Nazrul Islam, acting ameer of the Chattogram Jamaat unit, said on Saturday that the Proportional Representation (PR) system is the only solution to end nomination trading and prevent the reestablishment of fascism.

He said, “Under a mixed PR system, both party and candidate prestige will be preserved. There is no alternative to the PR system to end nomination trading, the use of muscle power and black money, and to prevent the reestablishment of fascism.”

He made the remarks while pressing a five-point demand, including the issuance of the July Charter implementation order and the holding of a referendum by November. He was speaking at a rally at Bahaddarhat intersection in the city on Saturday.
