There is doubt over the availability of Bangladesh captain Litton Das for the upcoming Super Four match against India in the Asia Cup. Due to an injury, if Litton is unable to play, the Bangladesh team management has already decided on an alternative captain.
It is understood that if the regular captain cannot take the field today, the team will be led by Jaker Ali Anik. Meanwhile, Parvez Hossain Emon is expected to replace Litton in the playing eleven.
Litton suffered a back injury during training two days before the India match. The team’s medical staff provided initial treatment and assessed the extent of the pain. After the assessment, Litton left the training session. The Bangladesh Cricket Board later confirmed that the injury was not serious.
However, Litton’s participation in today’s match against India remains uncertain. He is reportedly still experiencing some discomfort. With a crucial match against Pakistan scheduled the day after the India game, the team management does not want to take any risks with Litton’s fitness. They will wait until 6 pm Bangladesh time before making a final decision regarding his inclusion.
Bangladesh qualified for the Super Four stage as runners-up of Group B after victories over Hong Kong and Afghanistan. The Tigers began their Super Four campaign strongly by defeating Sri Lanka by four wickets, a good response after losing to Sri Lanka by six wickets in the group stage.

Across both ODI and T20 formats in the Asia Cup, Bangladesh have played India 15 times, winning just twice and losing 13 matches.
