Novak Djokovic will compete at the ATP Finals in Turin from 9 to 16 November, Italy’s tennis federation chief Angelo Binaghi has confirmed, easing concerns that the 24-time Grand Slam champion might withdraw from the season-ending event.
The world number five, who missed last year’s tournament through injury, skipped the Paris Masters and has not played since losing to qualifier Valentin Vacherot in the Shanghai Masters semi-finals last month.
“We have confirmation that Djokovic will be in Turin,” Binaghi told Italian radio channel Rai Gr Parlamento on Monday.
The ATP Finals bring together the world’s top eight players, with Djokovic having won the competition a record seven times, most recently in 2023.
The 38-year-old Serb’s participation means just one qualifying spot remains open, with Italian Lorenzo Musetti, ranked ninth, and Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, ranked eighth, still in contention.
Auger-Aliassime, who reached the Paris Masters final last week, withdrew from the Moselle Open in Metz on Monday, giving Musetti the chance to claim the final place if he wins this week’s ATP 250 event in Athens.
