YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed has sparked global attention after releasing his new World Cup track titled World Cup Champions, which has rapidly gone viral ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The video amassed nearly three million views on YouTube within around 13 to 15 hours of its premiere, while also generating huge engagement across X, Instagram and other platforms, placing it among the most talked-about unofficial tournament songs in recent memory.

The song’s explosive online growth has also drawn a response from FIFA itself, with the governing body replying to the creator’s post with the message “we will be in touch”, after he publicly urged them to consider making the track an official tournament anthem. The interaction immediately fuelled speculation among fans about whether the viral hit could be formally linked to the World Cup soundtrack.

The reaction across social media has been intense. On X, the teaser surpassed tens of millions of views within hours, alongside hundreds of thousands of likes and reposts. On Instagram, the promotional reel reportedly gathered millions of likes and tens of thousands of comments, while YouTube viewers also drove strong engagement, pushing likes into the hundreds of thousands shortly after release.

Fan reactions have been sharply divided but overwhelmingly attention-grabbing, with many praising the energy and football culture embedded in the track. Some users described it as capturing the spirit of global football fandom, while others compared it directly to official tournament anthems, including Shakira and Burna Boy’s Dai Dai, the official song for the 2026 World Cup. One widely shared comment even suggested it sounded more impactful than the official release, reflecting the scale of the online debate.

This is not the first time IShowSpeed has been linked to World Cup music. In 2022, he released a song simply titled World Cup, produced in collaboration with Warner Records, which has since accumulated more than 200 million views on YouTube. His continued association with football culture online has helped him build a global audience that spans gaming, streaming and sport entertainment.

FIFA’s official response has added further intrigue. While no confirmation has been given regarding official adoption, the phrase “we will be in touch” has been widely interpreted as a sign of interest, particularly given the organisation’s increasing focus on digital creators and global fan engagement ahead of the expanded 2026 tournament.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held across the United States, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July, and is expected to be the most digitally integrated edition in the tournament’s history. Alongside official music collaborations, including high-profile global artists, FIFA is also exploring broader entertainment partnerships as it looks to expand its global reach among younger audiences.
