Shakib Khan, Arshad Adnan and Himel Ashraf have reunited in New York, and the timing has set tongues wagging. The trio behind the successful Priyotoma and Rajkumar has appeared together again, immediately fuelling speculation about another collaboration.
For months, rumours have circulated that producer Arshad Adnan and director Himel Ashraf are planning a new film with Shakib Khan. Industry insiders have linked the project to a possible Eid release in 2027. Yet the title, cast, shooting schedule and release date remain under wraps.
The latest buzz began after photographs of the three surfaced from New York. Their reunion has left fans asking one obvious question: was this simply a meeting, or is something bigger taking shape?
The speculation is not entirely new. In June, Adnan shared a photograph with Ashraf and hinted at an ambitious new project for Bengali-speaking audiences. He said they had begun preparing to turn the idea into reality.
He also revealed that the story would blend family relationships and romance with a distinctly local narrative rooted in the lives of ordinary people. At the time, however, he kept the cast secret, saying their priority was developing the story. The lead actor, he said, would be revealed later.
Shakib’s name soon entered the conversation. The reason was obvious: his previous collaborations with Adnan and Ashraf, Priyotoma and Rajkumar, both enjoyed strong audience response and commercial success.
Now, their New York reunion has added another layer to the mystery. Several photographs of the trio together have appeared on social media, prompting fans to wonder whether the meeting was connected to the much-discussed project.
There is, however, no official confirmation linking the New York meeting to the film. Multiple sources claim the project is being planned for an Eid release in 2027, but until the makers speak publicly, it remains speculation.
The trio’s first major success came with Priyotoma in 2023, followed by Rajkumar. Their latest appearance together has naturally revived hopes of a third collaboration.
So, what exactly brought Shakib, Arshad and Himel together in New York? A casual reunion or the first clue to a new Eid blockbuster? For now, the answer remains behind the curtain.
