India on Friday said the interim government of Bangladesh is unable to maintain law and order situation in the country.
Responding to a question during the regular media briefing, Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, said Bangladesh should seriously investigate into the actions of extremist groups indulging in violence against minorities in Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT).
He said the government has the habit of trying to shift the blame elsewhere. He also said they categorically reject the false and baseless allegations against India, reports UNB.
Earlier on Monday, Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury alleged that the current unrest in Khagrachhari was being instigated by India or fascist elements.
“All necessary measures have been taken to ensure the peaceful celebration of Durga Puja, but a vested quarter is trying to disrupt the festival,” he said.
