Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir on Tuesday called upon police members to play a more effective role in maintaining law and order.
The police chief made the call while addressing an Eid reunion ceremony at the Police Headquarters (PHQ), marking the first working day following the Holy Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
During his speech, the IGP noted that members of all units, including Highway, Traffic, and District Police, performed their duties with extreme sincerity and dedication to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for people heading home during the Eid period.
The police chief also exchanged Eid greetings and pleasantries with police officers of all levels, members, and civil staff working at the Police Headquarters.
The event was attended by additional IGs, heads of various Dhaka-based units, and officials and employees of the Police Headquarters.
