The International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) has fixed March 2 to hear arguments on charge framing in a case lodged against former ministers Rashed Khan Menon and Qamrul Islam over alleged crimes against humanity linked to the July mass uprising.
A two-member bench of the tribunal led by Justice Golam Mortuza Mozumder fixed the date on Thursday.
According to court proceedings, the prosecution submitted the formal charge sheet on 3 February, 2026.
The tribunal subsequently took the allegation into cognisance, paving the way for the next phase of the trial process.
The accused were produced before the tribunal for hearing.
Both leaders have been accused of involvement in two separate incidents of crimes against humanity during the July Mass Uprising, which led to the deaths of 23 people.
Following the fall of the Awami League government on 5 August, 2024, Menon and Qamrul were arrested and have remained in custody since.
