Humaira Tafshir Sara from London School of English has recently won the FameLab Academy Bangladesh 2026 Grand Finale, earning an all-expenses-paid trip to the Cheltenham Science Festival in the United Kingdom.
Warda Fatima Khan from Sir John Wilson School and Md Ziaul Haque Reyan from St Joseph International School secured the first and second runner-up positions, said a press release on Monday.
FameLab Academy is a STEM communication competition for high school students. This year, 44 candidates from 22 schools participated, compared with 31 participants from 11 schools last year. Ten students advanced to the grand finale, representing seven institutions.
British Council Bangladesh Managing Director Zunayed Ahmed said, “FameLab is not really testing how much our finalists know. It is testing whether they can make the rest of us care about what they know.”
The finalists completed a two-day Masterclass led by UK science television presenter Dallas Campbell.
The winner received a Tk10,000 travel voucher from GoZayaan, while the other nine finalists received Tk3,000 vouchers each. All finalists also received prizes from Gorur Ghash, Prothom Alo, GrabGo and Headgear.
