Global apparel giant Hop Lun has officially launched its #SHECAN initiative across multiple factories in Bangladesh, benefiting 30,000 employees with a focus on health, development, and family support.
The program is aimed at addressing universal health, safety, and growth needs for all employees, regardless of gender, with a special emphasis on women, who make up 80% of the workforce in Bangladesh.
As part of the initiative, Hop Lun is offering services such as free medical camps and factory-based health training to ensure the well-being of its employees.
Childcare centers with improved learning corners and caregiver resources have already been introduced to support working parents, alongside ongoing clinic improvements and the provision of medical supplies for women.
In addition, the initiative includes a ‘Worker Scholarship Pathway’ to create educational opportunities for employees, empowering them to further their careers.
Expanded life skills training programs, in collaboration with external partners, will be made accessible to all employees as part of the broader development initiative.
Nishantha Mohottige, Bangladesh Country Head, expressed the company’s commitment to creating a workplace where all employees can feel safe, healthy, and confident, regardless of their role or gender.
He said, “With #SHECAN, we aim to provide a workplace where employees feel at home and supported, fostering health, prosperity, and confidence.”
