Former minister and banned Awami League joint general secretary Dipu Moni has sought bail from the High Court in seven cases filed at different police stations in the capital.
A High Court bench comprising Justice Md Khairul Alam and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher heard the petition on Tuesday and set Wednesday for passing an order.
Dipu Moni served as foreign minister, education minister, and social welfare minister during the 15-year tenure of the fallen Awami League government.
Following the fall of the government on 5 August 2024 in the wake of a mass uprising, police arrested Dipu Moni from the capital’s Baridhara area on the night of 19 August.
More than 38 cases have been filed against her, including charges of murder, crimes against humanity, corruption, and incitement of violence.
