The High Court has fixed 14 May for hearings on bail petitions in four more cases against former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari.
A bench of Justice KM Zahid Sarwar and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher passed the order Monday.
Md Raihanul Wazed Chowdhury, counsel in the case over the killing of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif, confirmed the matter to media.
Deputy Attorney General Syeda Shazia Sharmin and Assistant Attorneys General Md Humayun Kabir, Al‑Amin, Korshed Alam Selim, Mohammad Nazmul Hasan, and Md Mokhlesur Rahman appeared for the state.
Lawyer Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya and several others represented Chinmoy.
Earlier, the High Court rejected his bail plea in the Alif murder case.
According to case records, on 26 November 2024, Alif, a member of the Chattogram District Bar Association, was killed during a protest staged by Chinmoy’s followers demanding his release. On the same day, Chinmoy was also accused in five other cases over attacks on police and vandalism of vehicles.
