Bangladesh midfielder Hamza Dewan Choudhury left Dhaka for England on Saturday after a four-day stay in the capital. The EFL Championship footballer travelled with his wife following a short personal visit during the off-season.
Hamza rarely gets time in Bangladesh outside FIFA international windows because of his club schedule in England. He used the break after the domestic season to complete personal commitments and meet people from the local sporting community.
During the visit, Hamza signed agreements with several organisations. He also spent time at Bashundhara Kings Arena and visited Notun Kuri Sports, where he met players, officials and organisers connected to Bangladesh football.
Bangladesh will play a friendly match against San Marino on June 5. The national team plans to start its training camp on May 24 ahead of that fixture and the upcoming international window.
The Bangladesh Football Federation wants Hamza in Dhaka for the start of the camp. Officials still hope he could return to Bangladesh a few days before camp begins if his schedule allows.
