The National Integrity Strategy (NIS) has entered the current fiscal year with expanded measures to curb financial corruption, strengthen transparency and improve public service delivery across Bangladesh.
Government service agencies have been executing wide-ranging reform actions since 5 January with a focus on restoring public trust and ensuring accountability in procurement and administrative systems.
Officials say the reforms are helping reduce irregularities, remove bottlenecks in service delivery and improve problem-solving capacity within state institutions.
The government has instructed relevant agencies to reinforce discipline in public services while institutionalising development gains and eliminating corruption at source.
According to the National Board of Revenue, more than Tk 200 crore in revenue had been secured as of 9 January 2025, driven largely by increased tax mobilisation in the service sector. Revenue officials attribute the improvement to better management practices, digital monitoring and enhanced financial transparency.
A separate progress report released on 21 October 2025 showed that an additional Tk 25 crore was earned in revenue and Tk 14.86 crore worth of assets were recovered following intensified enforcement activities. In total, Tk 39.86 crore in financial safeguarding has been ensured through the ongoing reform drive.
Officials say these achievements mark an important milestone in revenue performance, demonstrating improved state capacity and stronger compliance.
Policy analysts note that 51 percent of the country’s development programmes are now being funded through domestic resources, indicating growing economic resilience and declining reliance on foreign financing.
They believe national progress can accelerate further as the government, private sector, international development partners and civil society collaborate to support long-term growth.
Experts remain optimistic that good governance, transparency and stricter accountability will continue to reinforce Bangladesh’s sustainable development goals.
