Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has said that the Public Examinations Act now includes punishment for digital cheating.
He said the law provides a maximum of five years’ imprisonment and fines for hacking or illegally altering exam results and merit lists.
Milon made the remarks on Friday morning at a leadership training seminar organised by Rotary Bangladesh at the Agriculturalist Institution auditorium.
The minister said students must be prepared in a way so they can lead globally. He added that the current government is shaping the education system in that direction.
He also said higher education alone should not be turned into a “factory of unemployment”.
The minister further said the government is prioritising technical and vocational education.
He added that technical education will be made mandatory in textbooks from class six onwards.
