Gono Odhikar Parishad activists staged a demonstration and blocked Paltan intersection in the capital on Wednesday to press home their three demands.
During the protest programme, the protesters chanted various slogans and demanded speedy trial of those who attacked Nurul Haque Nur and other leaders of the party.
They also called for the resignation of Home Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and a ban on the politics of Jatiya Party and the 14-party alliance.
Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur and some other leaders came under brutal attack on the night of August 29 while demanding a ban on political activities of Jatiya Party, referring to them as a major ally of the Awami League.
