Gold prices have been reduced again within 24 hours, with a cut of Tk2,216 per bhori, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) said.
The revised rates came into effect from 10:00am on Wednesday, according to a BAJUS press release.
Under the new pricing, 22-carat gold is set at Tk242,495 per bhori (11.664 grams), while 21-carat gold is priced at Tk231,472 and 18-carat at Tk198,405 per bhori.
Traditional gold has been fixed at Tk161,605 per bhori.
BAJUS said the adjustment followed a decline in the local price of pure gold in both international and domestic markets. The reduction comes a day after prices were also cut by Tk2,216 per bhori on Tuesday, when 22-carat gold stood at Tk244,711.
Gold prices in the local market have been revised 58 times so far in 2025, including 32 increases and 26 decreases. In 2024, prices were adjusted 93 times.
Silver prices remained unchanged, with 22-carat silver at Tk5,482 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk5,190, 18-carat at Tk4,491 and traditional silver at Tk3,383 per bhori.
