Gold prices have finally fallen in the domestic market after several consecutive increases.

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the price cut on Friday morning.

According to a BAJUS notice, the price of 22-carat gold, the highest quality, has been reduced by Tk14638 per bhori to Tk271363.

Before the announcement, 22-carat gold was being sold at Tk286000 per bhori.

BAJUS said the decision to adjust gold and silver prices was taken after reviewing the international market situation and overall conditions.

As per the decision of the BAJUS Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee meeting in Dhaka, 21-carat gold will now sell at Tk258999 per bhori and 18-carat gold at Tk222024 per bhori.

The price of traditional-method gold has been fixed at Tk182833 per bhori.
