Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) has increased the price of gold by 4,374 TK per bhori, marking the third consecutive rise in recent days.
This latest adjustment brings the total increase over the last three phases to 9,856 TK.
According to a BAJUS press release, the decision follows a rise in the price of pure gold (Tejabi gold) in the local market, with the new rates becoming effective from 10:30am on Saturday.
Under the revised pricing, the cost of 22-carat gold has reached 265,414 TK per bhori (11.664 grams). Furthermore, 21-carat gold is now priced at 253,342 TK, 18-carat at 217,125 TK, and gold refined through the traditional method at 177,701 TK.
BAJUS clarified that a mandatory 5 percent government VAT and a minimum 6 percent labour charge must be added to these selling prices, though labour costs may vary depending on the intricacy of the jewellery design.
The price of silver has also been adjusted upwards by 175 TK per bhori. The new rate for 22-carat silver is 6,882 TK, while 21-carat is 6,532 TK, 18-carat is 5,599 TK, and traditional silver stands at 4,199 TK. This marks the 19th adjustment for silver in 2026, a year that has already seen 12 price increases for the metal.
This latest gold price hike follows a previous adjustment on 23 February, when the price of 22-carat gold was raised by 2,216 TK to 261,040 TK. So far in 2026, gold prices have been adjusted 33 times, comprising 21 increases and 12 decreases. For comparison, the market saw 93 adjustments throughout 2025, which included 64 price hikes and 29 reductions.
