A day-long humanitarian health campaign was held providing free Hepatitis B tests and blood sugar (diabetes) measurements in Laksam, Cumilla.

Cumilla Liver Club organised the campaign at the Molla Bari in Monpal village on Friday. Mohammad Ejazul Huq, a renowned liver specialist and the founding president of the club,  inaugurated the programme.

Ejazul said, “Hepatitis B is a silent killer, which leads to liver cirrhosis or cancer. Ordinary village people sit with this disease due to lack of money or awareness. We want to reach people’s doorsteps to warn them about this silent killer.”

The event was attended by local dignitaries, including Golam Sarwar, Lutful Bari Chowdhury Hiru, Joint-General Secretary Md Jahangir Alam, and Abdul Halim Molla. Mohiuddin Molla moderated the programme.
