Zakir Hossain/Nestled amid the serene hills and shimmering waters of Chattogram, Foy’s Lake Basecamp has long been known as a scenic retreat. Today, it is gaining fresh recognition as a vibrant hub for outdoor adventure, with the Camp drawing thrill-seekers from across the country.
The camp offers a sweeping panorama of green mountains and blue waters. When its towering giant swing begins to arc through the sky, riders often describe the sensation as if they are about to touch the clouds.
Seema Akhtar, a visitor to Chattogram, recalled her first experience on the giant swing. “At first, I was terrified,” she said. “But once it started moving, I felt like I was flying beyond my fear.” For her, the thrill of overcoming that initial anxiety made the experience unforgettable.

Since its inauguration in January 2023, Foy’s Lake Basecamp has quickly become one of the most popular destinations for recreation and adventure in the port city. The initiative was jointly launched by Basecamp Adventures Limited and Concord Entertainment Company Limited, the company behind the broader Foy’s Lake entertainment complex.
Spread across 17 acres within the 336-acre Foy’s Lake Park area, the camp has been carefully developed along natural slopes, making the terrain itself part of the adventure. Visitors can glide across the lake on a water zipline, navigate wooden hanging stairways suspended among trees, or test their endurance on outdoor obstacle courses. The setting combines physical challenge with immersive natural beauty.
The facility caters to a wide demographic – families, school and college groups, corporate teams and individual adventurers. Activities range from team-building exercises and leadership training to treetop adventures, ziplining, river crossing, kayaking, paddle boarding and paintball. There are also options for yoga, meditation, birdwatching, mud trails, treasure hunts and even night safaris.
Early mornings at the camp are marked by mist-covered mountain trails, where guests take peaceful walks surrounded by birdsong. Afternoons often see visitors kayaking across calm lake waters, while evenings come alive with campfires, laughter and open-air conversations under the stars. For many, this blend of tranquillity and thrill creates a lasting memory.
Bishwajit Ghosh, marketing manager of Concord Entertainment Company Ltd, said safety remains the top priority. “Every guest receives a detailed safety briefing upon arrival,” he explained. “Our trainers guide visitors through each activity and ensure that all protocols are followed.”

Lead trainer Mohammad Sadman emphasised that all adventure activities are conducted with strict safety measures. Each ride, including the zipline and giant swing, has specific weight limits and operational guidelines.
The camp also offers flexible packages tailored to different needs, as well as full-day and overnight packages. Abdul Halim, a senior official of SGS Group who recently visited with a corporate team, highlighted the wellness benefits of such activities.
“We spend most of our time at desks,” he said. “Physical activity is limited. Bringing our team here from Dhaka to Chattogram allowed everyone to refresh both body and mind.” According to him, engaging in outdoor challenges helped strengthen teamwork while offering a much-needed break from routine.
Tourism stakeholders believe that Foy’s Lake Basecamp has added a new dimension to Chattogram’s travel landscape. Beyond recreation, it is contributing to the local economy by generating employment and stimulating nearby businesses.
