Fortis FC have signed Bhutanese attacker Dawa Tshering ahead of the business end of the 2025–26 Bangladesh Football League, adding firepower in Dhaka as the title race tightens.
The move underlines Fortis’ ambition. They sit second in the table with 18 points from nine matches, level with leaders Bashundhara Kings after five wins, three draws and one defeat.
Fortis have built momentum the hard way. While Bashundhara Kings, Mohammedan Sporting Club and Abahani wrestle with financial strain and FIFA regulations, Fortis keep their house in order and their players focused.
That stability shows on the pitch. Fortis move the ball quickly, attack space early and avoid the panic that drags others down in tight games.
Tshering fits that profile. Born in Trashigang on 10 October 2001, the 1.73m attacker arrives with a reputation for direct running and a sharp eye for goal.
He operates mainly across the front line. Coaches deploy him as a forward or winger, where he thrives on receiving early passes and driving at defenders.
His recent club record explains the interest. In 2024, he scored 12 goals in 14 matches for Samtse FC in the Bhutan Premier League, punishing slow defences with clever movement.
Before that, he tested himself abroad. He scored once and added four assists in nine appearances for Surin Khong Chee Mool in Thailand’s League 3, then gained further experience with Delhi FC in India’s I-League.
Sources told to Times of Bangladesh that “Fortis FC are very serious about winning title this season. For sharpening the attacking line we have recruited Dawa Tshering and we hope he will do well.”
Tshering also brings international pedigree. He holds 19 senior caps for Bhutan and scored his first international goal in 2025, showing he can handle pressure beyond domestic football.
For Fortis, this signing signals intent. They trust structure, pay on time and back football decisions, and that clarity now attracts players from beyond Bangladesh.
With the title race finely balanced, Fortis believe margins will decide everything. Dawa Tshering gives them another edge in the final third.
