Mustafizur Rahman will join Abahani Limited ahead of Friday’s Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League clash with Legends of Rupganj, despite earlier expectations that he would play for Mohammedan Sporting Club.

Abahani confirmed the arrival of Bangladesh’s left-arm pacer after their 173-run win over Gulshan Cricket Club in the eighth round on Tuesday. The club will have Mustafiz available for only one match.

The 30-year-old last played for Bangladesh in the third ODI against New Zealand on 23 April. Before that, he featured in the Pakistan Super League. Abahani will use him against Rupganj before Bangladesh begin their ODI series against Australia on 9 June, where he could earn selection.

Mahidul Islam Ankon led the innings with an unbeaten 102 from 95 balls. His century anchored the total and helped Abahani maintain control throughout the innings.
