A fire that broke out at the Bengal Leather Complex building in Hazaribagh, Dhaka, has been brought under control. The blaze was fully extinguished following the efforts of five units from the Fire Service.
Fire started just before 6am on Thursday. Local residents informed the Fire Service after the fire began and it was completely brought under control by around 6:30am. No casualties were reported in the incident.
Bengal Leather Complex building houses multiple establishments, including a shoe factory, a leather processing plant, and several garment factories.
Authorities suspect that the fire may have originated from an electrical short circuit in a scrap warehouse located on the fourth floor of the building.
Officials from the Fire Service stated that the exact cause of the fire and the total extent of the damage will be determined after an investigation.
