Voting is taking place in a festive atmosphere in Satkhira. From Thursday morning, the presence of voters at various polling centers in the district is noticeable.
Voter turnout continued to increase as the day progressed. Voters could be seen standing in long queues to cast their votes.
This time in Satkhira, there are a total of 18,32,775 voters, among whom there are 9,17,848 male and 9,14,914 female voters.
Twenty candidates from various political parties are contesting in the four constituencies of the district.
A young voter, Rakibul Islam, said, “I am very happy to have been able to cast my vote in a good environment. This election has been held without any kind of obstacles or disruptions.”
Krishna Banerjee of Kapsanda village in Ashashuni upazila said, “Voting is taking place in a festive atmosphere. The vigilance of law enforcement agencies is noteworthy.”
District Returning Officer Afroza Akhtar has stated that the administration is prepared for a free and fair vote. Immediate action will be taken if any unpleasant incident occurs anywhere.
