Barcelona secured a commanding 6-1 victory over Olympiacos in the Champions League on Tuesday, 21 October 2025, with Fermin Lopez scoring a superb hat-trick and Marcus Rashford adding two goals of his own. Hansi Flick’s side blitzed their opponents in the second half, scoring four goals in 11 minutes, taking advantage of a controversial sending-off that reduced Olympiacos to 10 men.

Barcelona started brightly and could have opened the scoring within five minutes when Rashford’s 10-yard volley flew over the crossbar. However, Fermin Lopez put Barca ahead just two minutes later, finishing expertly after Lamine Yamal weaved through multiple defenders and goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis.

Fermin doubled his tally before half-time, receiving a precise pass from Dro Fernandez, evading a defender, and finishing calmly.

Olympiacos briefly threatened at the start of the second half when Ayoub El Kaabi rose above Eric Garcia to score, but the goal was ruled out for offside. A handball by Garcia in the same sequence led to a penalty, which El Kaabi converted to make it 2-1.

The Greek side’s troubles intensified six minutes later when Santiago Hezze was shown a second yellow card for an apparent clash with Marc Casado, leaving Olympiacos down to 10 men.

Barcelona capitalised soon after, earning a penalty when Rashford was brought down by Tzolakis. After a VAR review, Yamal confidently converted from 12 yards to make it 3-1. Rashford added a fourth with a composed finish inside the area, before Fermin completed his hat-trick with a thunderous volley. Rashford capped the scoring with a long-range strike to seal the 6-1 victory.
