In the 13th national parliamentary election, former Bangladesh cricket team captain Tamim Iqbal cast his vote in the Chattogram-9 constituency.
He voted at the Regional Public Administration Training Center on Thursday at 11am.
Tamim arrived at and left the polling centre under army protocol.
He said, “The vote is being held in a fair and festive atmosphere. I have voted for my preferred candidate. It feels good to have voted for the first time in my life.”
At Chattogram-9 (Kotwali-Bakolia), voter presence was notable since the morning. 435 votes were cast by 10am at the three booths of the Regional Public Administration Center. The centre has a total of approximately 2,862 voters.
Presiding Officer KBM Mostafa Zaman informed that, on average, each voter is taking one and a half to two minutes to cast their vote. It is taking slightly longer for elderly voters. He said, “Voting is going on peacefully and fairly. No complaints have been received so far.”
The atmosphere at polling centres in Chattogram was calm and orderly since the morning.
