European business chamber EuroCham Bangladesh has recently hosted its Business Evening 2026 at the United Convention Centre in the capital, bringing together business leaders, diplomats and policymakers to strengthen European business cooperation with Bangladesh.
The event brought together EuroCham members, the European Union delegation, member state ambassadors and trade representatives, business leaders, partners and government officials. Ambassadors and representatives from Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, France, the Netherlands and Italy were also present.
Held under the theme Delivering for European Businesses, the programme featured EuroCham’s first annual general meeting, the inaugural advisory council meeting and a networking cocktail session.
In her remarks, EuroCham chairperson Nuria Lopez highlighted the chamber’s advocacy role in Brussels for Bangladesh, including issues related to GSP Plus and a possible free trade agreement in the future. She also underscored EuroCham’s efforts to represent the interests of European investors and promote a more transparent and business-friendly environment to attract greater investment into Bangladesh’s manufacturing sector.
The highlight of the evening was a keynote address titled The EU Means Business in Bangladesh by Ambassador Michael Miller, head of the EU delegation to Bangladesh. He described the European Union as a steadfast and reliable partner of Bangladesh and emphasised the strength of their commercial relationship.
Ambassador Miller also called for a level playing field for European operators, policy stability in the coming period and the completion of ongoing reforms to further boost bilateral economic relations.
EU delegation officials, member state ambassadors, senior trade officials, EuroCham members, board members and secretariat officials were also present at the event.
