The Election Commission (EC) will hold a meeting with all registered political parties on Tuesday to brief them on the postal voting system to be used through the Postal Vote BD app ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the referendum.
The briefing is scheduled to be held from 4pm to 5:30pm at the auditorium of the EC building, according to a letter issued on Monday and signed by EC Public Relations Wing Director Md Ruhul Amin Mallik.
According to the letter, the referendum and the 13th National Parliamentary Election will be held on12 February, 2026.
The scrutiny of nomination papers and hearings of appeals of contesting candidates have already been completed, while electoral symbols will be allotted on 21 January.
Election campaigning is set to begin on 22 January.
Following the allocation of symbols, registered voters at home and abroad will be able to cast their votes through the Postal Vote BD app.
The EC said the meeting has been arranged to provide political parties with a clear and comprehensive understanding of the postal voting process, including registration and voting procedures.
Each registered political party has been requested to send two representatives with technical expertise to attend the briefing.
Independent candidates have been asked to participate either in person or through a technically qualified representative nominated by them.
The EC said the initiative aims to ensure transparency and enhance stakeholders’ confidence in the postal voting system ahead of the polls.
