The Election Commission (EC) has invited international election observers and foreign media to monitor the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum, scheduled for 12 February, 2026.
The deadline for submitting applications has been set for 17 January, 2026.
The announcement came through a notice issued on Thursday and signed by Akhtar Ahmed, senior secretary of the Election Commission. The notice emphasised the commission’s commitment to conducting “free, fair, credible, and participatory elections” while keeping all election processes open to observation.
“In this context, we invite international election observers, observer organisations, and foreign media intending to monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections and referendum to apply in line with the guidelines,” the notice read.
The EC referred interested parties to the Guidelines for International Election Observers and Foreign Media 2025, along with the required forms, available on its official website: www.ecs.gov.bd.
