The Election Commission has approved the biennial election of the executive committee of the Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) for the 2026–28 term.
The approval was conveyed in a letter signed by Election Commission Deputy Secretary Mohammad Monir Hossain on Wednesday, according to the document.
The letter has already been sent to the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training Additional Director General (Joint Secretary) and the BAIRA administrator.
Subject to compliance with the prescribed code of conduct, the election may be held on 17 January.
As per the approval, the election will take place at the Celebrity Hall of the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Agargaon, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.
The Election Commission has asked the concerned authorities to take necessary follow-up steps accordingly.
Earlier, the commission had directed that elections of all organisations be suspended ahead of the national election.
