Fifteen students from Dhaka University received treatment at the Shahid Buddhijibi Dr Muhammad Murtaza Medical Centre after injuries sustained during Friday’s earthquake. Panic and hurried evacuations from building rooftops and halls led to several accidents.

Hospital sources said two female students were being treated for panic attacks. Among three students who jumped from rooftops, two received first aid and returned home, while one remained admitted for further care.

Senior Medical Officer Anhad told TIMES of Bangladesh, “Many students came for treatment. Most received basic care and left. A few with serious injuries were referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.”

Several other students were injured while rushing out of multi-storey residential halls, spraining their feet in the chaos.
