An inception workshop for the development of e-learning content was held on Monday, 11 May, at the seminar room of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) headquarters in Dhaka. The event was organised by the Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Centre (CReLIC) under the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Mainstreaming Project (CRIMP), implemented by LGED.
The workshop was chaired by Md Azharul Islam, Additional Chief Engineer of LGED and Director of CReLIC, while Md Belal Hossain, Chief Engineer of LGED, attended as the Chief Guest, said in a press release.
In his opening remarks, the Chief Engineer said that e-learning would be a timely platform to enhance the skills of engineers in constructing modern, climate-resilient infrastructure. He added that the aim of the workshop was to develop high-quality content that could provide digital training to field-level staff as well.
During the workshop, ADDIE Soft Ltd, the consulting firm appointed, presented their plan via a PowerPoint presentation. The presentation was led by content developers Md Imran Hussain, Md Mizanur Rahman, and AGM Md Shariful Islam.
The event saw participation from LGED’s Additional Chief Engineers Abul Bashed Mohammad Rezaul Bari, Syeda Asma Khatun, Kazi Saiful Kabir, Molla Mizanur Rahman, and Md Wahiduzzaman.
Also in attendance were Superintending Engineer Md Golam Mowla, Project Director of CRIMP-CReLIC Md Abdul Khalek, CReLIC Executive Engineers Md Latif Hossain and Fatema Ismat Ara, Assistant Engineer Arpan Paul, and CReLIC specialist consultants Md Abdul Noor, Md Shahidul Islam, Md Sadequr Rahman Bhuiyan, Md Masudur Rahman, and Syed Mahbub Ahsan, alongside various Project Directors and Executive Engineers.
The initiative aims to build a robust e-learning platform that will support the continued development of infrastructure expertise within the local government sector, addressing the growing need for climate-resilient infrastructure in Bangladesh.
