The University of Dhaka’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) held a certificate distribution ceremony on Monday, marking the conclusion of a four-day training workshop on Research Methodology and Scientific Writing.
The event took place at the Anwarul Azim Chowdhury Lecture Gallery of the Department of Microbiology, according to a press release.
The Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) of the University of Dhaka, Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed, attended the program as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the participants.
The Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell, Professor Dr M Rezaul Islam, was also present at the event. The programme was conducted by Associate Professor Dr Mustak Ibne Ayub of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.
A total of 88 teachers from various departments and institutes of the University of Dhaka participated in the workshop, which was conducted in three groups.
Addressing the participants, Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed urged young teachers to undertake timely and effective research activities to help transform the University of Dhaka into a research-oriented institution.
He emphasised the importance of collaboration between junior and senior faculty members to enhance the university’s standing in international rankings.
