Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) is aiming to provide capital to the ceramic industry through its stock market platforms, including the Alternative Trading Board (ATB).

“We aim to strengthen our collaboration with the ceramic sector by providing opportunities for capital through the stock market, helping it grow further and contribute to the national economy,” said Mohammad Asadur Rahman, Chief Operating Officer and Acting Managing Director of DSE.

A virtual meeting on 25 September 2025 between DSE and the Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BCMEA) discussed how the stock market could help ceramic companies access capital.

Rahman highlighted the importance of the ceramic industry in meeting domestic demand and generating foreign currency through internationally recognized products.

DSE officials presented the structure of Bangladesh’s capital market, its products, the process of raising funds, and the benefits of platforms like ATB.

BCMEA Senior Vice President Mamunur Rashid welcomed the initiative but stressed the need for a quicker IPO process for the ceramic sector.

“It is crucial that the IPO process is completed within the shortest time for the ceramic sector,” Rashid said, calling for simplified post-listing compliance.

Rashid also suggested organizing a seminar for ceramic industry stakeholders to discuss listing options and the benefits of being part of the stock exchange.

Rahman assured that DSE would promptly organize the seminar and further enhance collaboration with the ceramic industry.
