In his budget speech, Md Abdus Salam said, “We have tried to formulate a realistic and implementable budget rather than an ambitious budget with a large financial outlay. In the FY2026–27 budget, no additional taxes have been imposed on the respected city residents, nor have tax rates been increased. Instead, new revenue heads have been created to increase the City Corporation’s own-source income. Unnecessary expenditure has also been reduced where appropriate.”
For the implementation of the budget, the Administrator sought the overall cooperation and participation of the Government of Bangladesh, the Local Government Division, various government and private organisations, development partner agencies, the media, civil society, the business community, and above all, the respected citizens of DSCC.
