Photos of actor Ashraful Haque Don with a woman circulated widely on social media several years ago, sparking considerable discussion and controversy.
The woman in the photos was initially claimed to be Samira Haque, wife of late actor Salman Shah.
However, different information later emerged about the identity of the woman.
In an interview, Mostak Waiz, a close friend of Salman Shah and Samira’s former husband, claimed that the woman in the viral photos was not Samira but actor Sabrina.
According to him, the photos were taken during the shooting of the film Asha Bhalobasha.
Mostak said Salman Shah and Shabnaz were the lead actors in Asha Bhalobasha, while Sabrina appeared in a supporting role.
According to his account, Salman Shah took the photo of Don and Sabrina jokingly through a ventilation opening while they were inside a room during filming. He later teased Don about the photo.
Mostak also spoke about a separate photograph of Don and Samira. He claimed that Samira was reading a magazine while Salman Shah was taking photographs.
At one point, Don reached out his hand, and Salman captured the moment in a photograph.
Mostak further claimed that many of the photos circulated online in the names of Don and Samira had been edited or manipulated using Photoshop.
Samira had also previously addressed the controversy, saying a photograph of hers was being used to spread false information.
She said the misinformation had led many people to misunderstand and defame her.
According to Samira, Don was like a younger brother to her and would touch her feet to seek blessings during Eid.
She also said she had contacted law enforcement authorities several times over the matter and cooperated with officials during their inquiries.
Salman Shah married Samira on 12 August 1992. In a career spanning just a few years, he appeared in 27 films and became one of the most beloved stars in Bangladeshi cinema.
His sudden death on 6 September 1996 has continued to fuel discussions and controversies surrounding his personal and family life.
