Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1,944 cases against traffic law violation during drives conducted across various areas of Dhaka on Thursday and Friday.

DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter in a press release.

According to the press release, the Traffic-Ramna Division filed 130 cases, including 2 buses, 5 covered vans, 14 CNGs, and 60 motorcycles. The Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 164 cases, involving 4 buses, 18 trucks, 2 covered vans, 8 CNGs, and 116 motorcycles.

The Traffic Division (Motijheel) filed 277 cases, which included 16 buses, 3 trucks, 19 covered vans, 82 CNGs, and 131 motorcycles. The total number of cases in Traffic-Wari Division was 89 cases, in Traffic-Tejgaon Division 220, in Traffic-Mirpur Division 612, in Traffic-Uttara Division 234, and in Traffic-Gulshan Division 218.

During the operations, a total of 700 vehicles were impounded and 259 vehicles were towed. DMP’s Traffic Division has stated that its drives to maintain traffic discipline in the Dhaka will continue.
