Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam has reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to building an inclusive and citizen-friendly digital government at the United Nations Public Service Forum 2026 in Tbilisi, Georgia on Thursday.
Participating in a high-level roundtable, the minister outlined Bangladesh’s future plans for inclusive Digital public infrastructure (DPI) and ensuring citizen participation in government services.
“For Bangladesh, DPI is not just about technology; it is a key instrument of good governance. Our goal is to ensure that a citizen in a remote area can access government services as easily as a resident of the capital,” the minister said.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the current government is committed to building a digital-first government system.
Citizens are currently able to receive government services through the “EkPay” platform, the “myGov” app, the National Information Portal, or directly through the “333” helpline, the minister said.
Additionally, the government is working to ensure affordable and quality internet and smart devices for everyone within the next three years, he added.
Regarding citizen feedback, the minister mentioned that through the Cabinet Division’s Grievance Redress System (GRS) and e-Participation system, citizens can directly provide opinions and complaints.
There is a plan to introduce an “e-Participation Ranking” in the future to further strengthen the accountability of government institutions, the minister also said.
