Dhaka welcomes the ongoing dialogue between Hamas and Israel aimed at ending the war in Gaza.
Bangladesh believes that diplomacy and dialogue are the only means to resolve any conflict, and commends all stakeholders for their efforts in facilitating this important diplomatic initiative to end the tragic crisis.
A press release issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Thursday said Bangladesh hopes that this process will lead to an immediate ceasefire, the restoration of humanitarian assistance, and an end to the enormous suffering of the people of Gaza.
It also hopes that, by ending the ongoing war in Gaza, this diplomatic process would pave the way for the realisation of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine.
Bangladesh stands ready to contribute to keeping peace and the reconstruction process in Gaza, and reiterates its unwavering support for a two-state solution based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Palestine.
