Dhaka Division secured a comfortable 28-run victory over Rajshahi Division in the NCL T20, thanks to a disciplined bowling performance after setting a modest target of 150 runs.
The match, held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, saw Dhaka win the toss and choose to bat first. Despite no batter reaching a half-century, Dhaka managed to post 150 runs for 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
The highest score came from Mahidul Islam Ankon, who played a quick cameo of 35 runs off 20 balls. Suman Khan added an unbeaten 14 off just 5 balls, while opener Ashiqur Rahman Shibli contributed 22 runs from 18 deliveries.
Rajshahi’s bowlers shared the wickets evenly. Asaduzzaman Payel and Sabbir Hossain claimed two wickets each. Taijul Islam, Nahid Rana, Nihaduzzaman and SM Meherob Hossain picked up one wicket apiece.
In reply, Rajshahi struggled to gain momentum in their innings. Opener Habibur Rahman Sohan made a brisk 23 off 14 balls, while Meherob Hossain scored 31 from 29 deliveries. However, no batter was able to anchor the innings long enough to chase down the target, and Rajshahi were bowled out for 122.
For Dhaka, Nazmul Islam Apu was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets. Taibur Rahman and Suman Khan chipped in with 2 wickets each, while Ripon Mondol and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat took one wicket apiece.
The win adds valuable points for Dhaka Division as the NCL T20 continues in Sylhet.
