Delta Life Insurance Company Ltd expanded its Life Insurance Fund in the first half of 2026 as premium income increased, although higher expenses weighed on the insurer’s financial performance.
The company’s Life Insurance Fund stood at Tk4,292.04 crore as of 30 June 2026, up from Tk4,047.28 crore a year earlier, according to its unaudited financial statements.
Net premium income, a key measure of an insurer’s core business inflow, increased to Tk486.69 crore during the January-June period, compared with Tk439.18 crore in the same period of 2025.
The insurer also recorded quarterly growth, with net premium income rising to Tk259.79 crore in the April-June quarter from Tk245.18 crore a year earlier.
However, the increase in income was accompanied by higher expenses. Delta Life’s total expenses rose to Tk502.26 crore in the first half of 2026, compared with Tk481.31 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Quarterly expenses also increased, reaching Tk282.11 crore during April-June, compared with Tk256.80 crore in the same quarter of 2025.
The rise in expenses indicates continued cost pressure on the insurer despite growth in premium collection and expansion of its insurance fund.
Delta Life Insurance shares, with a face value of Tk10 each, closed 1.12 per cent lower at Tk79.30 on the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Sunday.
