Bangladesh-based presenter and filmmaker Debashish Biswas is set to appear in a new role as a singer, releasing two reinterpreted songs originally popularised by legendary Indian playback singer Kishore Kumar ahead of Eid-ul-Azha through the Phantom Creation YouTube channel and Facebook page.
Debashish said he has been a fan of Kishore Kumar since childhood and that although the plan had been in development for some time, it is now finally coming to fruition as an Eid special release. The two songs he has recorded are ‘Chirodini Tumi Je Amar’ and ‘Aaj Ei Dintake’.
Speaking about the project, he said, “You know I do a bit of singing. I have performed as a vocalist in many shows at home and abroad. I have been a fan of Kishore Kumar ji since childhood. I had long decided to record some of his timeless songs in new musical arrangements in my own voice. It took time in between, but now there will be no more delay.”
The new arrangement of Chirodini Tumi Je Amar has been done by Mir Masum, while Rana Akhand has worked on the music arrangement for Aaj Ei Dintake. Biswas himself is directing the music videos for both songs.
The videos have been shot in various scenic locations in Sylhet, with Asif Noor and Jarin Rahman appearing as models. Habib is handling choreography for the project.
Debashish expressed hope that both songs will be released for audiences on Chandrat (night before Eid).
