A day labourer, Ibrahim alias Babul, 40, died in a road accident in Jurain on early Tuesday.
The incident occurred around 1am in the Balur Maidan, Munsiyari area.
Babul was a resident of the Mistir Dokan area in Jurain with his family. He hailed from South Khasirhat village in Tazumuddin upazila of Bhola and was the son of Anisul Haque.
According to his wife, Minara Begum, Babul worked as a day labourer in Nawabpur market of Old Dhaka, and had gone there for work on Monday.
He was walking home after finishing work when he was injured in the road accident in the Balur Maidan area.
Babul was first taken to Ad-Din Medical College Hospital in critical condition. As his condition worsened, he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead around 3am.
The vehicle involved in the accident has not been identified.
Md Faruk, in charge of the Dhaka Medical Police Camp, said the body has been kept at the morgue. The incident is under investigation by Shyampur police station.
