Center for Technology Journalism (CTJ) elected Daily Samakal Assistant Editor Hasan Jakir as President and appointed Daily Jugantor Staff Reporter Saiful Ahmad Saif as Secretary General for the 2026–27 term.
The platform announced the new executive committee in a statement on Thursday.
The one-year committee includes Daily Kalbela Online Editor M Mizanur Rahman Sohel as Vice President.
Rupali Bangladesh Senior Reporter Shaon Solaiman will serve as Director Organising, The Daily Ittefaq Staff Reporter Hamidur Rahman as Director Finance, Jamuna TV Researcher Zahidul Islam Asha as Director Research and Development, and TechZoom TV Chief Reporter Mirajul Islam Jibon as Director Publicity and Publication.
The Business Standard Chief Reporter Abbas Uddin Noyon and Machranga TV Reporter Omar Fahian Hamim will serve as Directors.
The advisory panel includes Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF) Secretary General Abdul Haque Anu, Prothom Alo In-Charge of New Media Initiative Pallab Mohaimen and Daily Notun Shomoy Editor Nazmul Haque Shyamal.
“Alongside mainstream ICT and telecommunications journalism, our platform brings together leading ICT and telecom academicians from top universities in the country,” said CTJ President Hasan Jakir.
“We hope the new committee will play an effective role in advancing journalism and the technology sector,” he said.
“Bangladesh’s ICT and telecommunications sector holds immense potential,” said CTJ Secretary General Saiful Ahmad Saif.
“To harness this potential, timely policymaking, research and objective journalism are essential,” he said.
“In the current session, CTJ will place special emphasis on policy research and dialogue,” he added.
