Amir Hamza, the newly elected Member of Parliament for Kushtia-3 (Sadar) constituency, has officially commenced his parliamentary term by leading a cleanliness campaign at the Kushtia General Hospital.
The prominent Islamic speaker, who was elected in the 13th Parliamentary Election as a Jamaat-e-Islami candidate, arrived at the 250-bed hospital premises around 9am on Friday.
Accompanied by party leaders and activists, he personally took part in the cleaning activities to mark the start of his developmental work for the constituency.
Several senior local leaders were present during the drive, including Kushtia District Jamaat Secretary Suja Uddin Joarder and City Jamaat Ameer Enamul Haque, along with various levels of party workers.
The hospital’s Resident Medical Officer (RMO), Dr Hossain Imam, also attended the event.
Speaking to media representatives at the site, Amir Hamza stated that besides maintaining the hygiene of the Kushtia General Hospital, the various crises currently facing the facility would be addressed and resolved promptly.
He further emphasised that physical cleanliness alone is insufficient for improving healthcare standards. “The doctors, officers, and staff of this hospital must also possess cleanliness of mind to ensure proper service to the public,” the lawmaker remarked.
