As Bangladesh prepares to host West Indies in a three-match T20I series in Chattogram, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) unveiled the series trophy in an unique style.
On Sunday, the T20I series trophy was unveiled at 12 PM in front of the historic Central Railway Building (C.R.B) in Chattogram, one of the city’s oldest landmarks. After the photo session, both team captains, Litton Das and Shai Hope posed for pictures in front of Bangladesh’s first steam rail engine, preserved at the entrance of the C.R.B.
This historic locomotive, a symbol of the country’s railway heritage, is displayed as a public monument and was part of the Assam-Bengal Railway network laid in 1862.
During the photo session, photographers and cameramen swarmed the two captains, making it feel more like a captain unveiling than a trophy unveiling.
The event is part of the BCB’s ongoing Cricket Tourism initiative, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Tourism Board, aimed at promoting the country’s cultural heritage through cricket. The BCB sincerely thanks the Department of Archaeology, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, for their support.
Previously, before the ODI series, the trophy unveiling took place in front of Lalbagh Fort, a historic Mughal era landmark.
