Members of a teen gang known as the “Kobji Kata” group have slashed and injured three people, including a police constable, in Adabor, Mohammadpur, in the capital.

According to police and local sources, the incident occurred around 11pm on Monday in the Sunibir Housing area. The police constable seriously injured in the attack is named Al-Amin. He was rescued after the incident and admitted to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital.

That night, police received a call on 999 reporting a clash between two groups in a garage in Sunibir Housing, Adabor. Subsequently, a team from Adabor Thana Police conducted a raid there.

At that time, the alleged main leaders of the teen gang, Johnny and Rony, attacked the police with sharp local weapons. The miscreants also simultaneously attacked a police vehicle parked by the road and slashed and injured the constable.

Adabor Thana Police stated that following the attack on police, joint forces with the assistance of the army have taken control of the area. So far, over one hundred individuals have been detained and are being questioned.

Local sources report that although the leader of the Kobji Kata teen gang, ‘Kobji Kata Anwar,’ is currently in jail, it is alleged that his two other leaders, Johnny and Rony, are controlling the area.

Although members of the teen gang have been arrested at various times, they have been released on bail and are again getting involved in various criminal activities.
