Gallery Cosmos and Cosmos Atelier71 are set to host the 10th session of Cosmos Art Echo tomorrow, featuring noted Bangladeshi multidisciplinary artist Mahbubur Rahman as the guest speaker.
Titled “The Story of an Angry Man Talking to a Wall,” the session will be held on Friday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Cosmos Atelier71 Studio at Cosmos Centre in Malibagh, Dhaka.
Cosmos Art Echo is the artist talk initiative of Gallery Cosmos and Cosmos Atelier71, launched under the Atelier71 Membership Programme to encourage dialogue, exchange and critical engagement in contemporary art practice.
The initiative regularly brings together artists, thinkers and audiences through conversations and cultural activities, including art camps, workshops, film screenings, outdoor art events and auctions, according to Gallery Cosmos.
Widely recognised for his concept-driven multidisciplinary practice, Mahbubur Rahman has played a significant role in shaping contemporary art discourse in Bangladesh both through his artistic work and as the Co-Founder and Trustee of Britto Arts Trust.
Born and based in Dhaka, Mahbubur Rahman’s major solo exhibitions and projects have been presented in cities including Dhaka, Delhi, Mumbai, Chattogram and Yogyakarta.
His works have also been showcased at prominent international exhibitions and platforms such as the Venice Biennale, Gwangju Biennale, Dhaka Art Summit, Kathmandu Triennale and documenta fifteen in Germany.
Mahbubur Rahman’s works are included in several notable public and institutional collections, including Tate Modern, Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, Fukuoka Art Museum, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Samdani Art Foundation.
