Content creator RS Fahim Chowdhury has been shown arrested in a case filed with Dhaka’s Ramna Police Station under the Anti‑Terrorism Act.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jewel Rana on Sunday granted a petition filed by the police to show Fahim arrested in the case, said state counsel Shamsuddoha Suman.
On 9 June, DB Cyber and Special Crime (South) Sub‑inspector Amir Hamza, also investigation officer of the case, filed the petition. The court then set Sunday (14 June) for hearing in the presence of the accused.
The petition stated that preliminary evidence was found against the suspect, requiring his arrest for proper investigation and justice.
According to the case documents, suspect Fahim is a former Chhatra League (BCL) leader and financier. The accused allegedly conspired to undermine the integrity, solidarity and sovereignty of the state, spread fear among the public, and obstruct state functions by holding a secret meeting on 9 February 2025 inside Ramna Park near Hotel InterContinental.
Earlier, on 29 March, Fahim was detained by locals and students in the Mirpur zoo area and handed over to Shah Ali police. He was later transferred to Gulshan Police Station. On 30 March, he was shown arrested in a murder case linked to the July uprising and sent to jail.
